Cultivar Reserve Kenya
This coffee is a traditional double washed bean from Nyeri county, produced by a collection of "smallholder" growers. Smallholder farmers are family-owned operations that typically cultivate on less than five acres of land.
As a pour-over, the coffee is juicy and clean with a sweet, syrupy body, bursting with a medley of flavors including blackcurrant, hibiscus, grapefruit, lemon, grape and chocolate, to the point that it could be mistaken for fruit juice. This coffee is of competition-level quality and I'm excited to be able to offer this small, special lot to our customers.
This coffee will do well on all brewing methods. If brewing espresso, try a few long pulls while you dial it in. For drip, add a little cold water to your cup after initial tasting to attenuate the bright, juicy flavors.
